Vincent's twelfth reason for disliking Friday Dinner at Tifa's: afterwards, Yuffie washes dishes with a victim of her choice. Today, she's dunking the good china in scalding hot water, her fingers slick with a gentle soap.
He watches pale, fragile porcelain dance through her fingers. Silver rims slip and slide and she laughs at the expression on his face.
If she breaks anything, he says, he will not be held accountable.
She gives him a pitying smile.
Title: Like A Spider Smells Tomorrow's Rain

Swaying atop the airship, with Yu Yevon defeated and his father finally at peace, Tidus can feel the tide of nothingness ready to crash down on him. It's an undertow pulling at his feet, it's salt water swimming into his mouth.
There is peace and rest and darkness coming for him. He can feel it in his bones. He can feel it in between his fingers and his toes.
He doesn't want peace or silence. He wants to fight, he wants the struggle to survive.
"I love you," Yuna says and he can say nothing, because there's time lodged in his throat.
